I finally tried a prompt from a diner napkin in Tulsa and now I can't decide if rules help or hurt
Last month I scribbled a three line prompt on a napkin at a diner in Tulsa and wrote a whole story from it in one sitting, but my writers group says using prompts is cheating because the idea isn't yours. Where do you land, does a prompt spark your best stuff or just make everything feel the same?
