Got a letter from a collection agency for $340 in Omaha, and it wasn't even mine
Last Tuesday I opened a letter from a collection agency in Omaha about a $340 medical bill from 3 years ago, and I have never been to that hospital. I called them and the rep said the name and address matched so it must be correct, which is not how that works. My cousin had the same thing happen last month and it took her 4 phone calls to get it removed from her report. I sent a dispute letter with a copy of my ID and a note saying the account is not mine, so now I wait. How long did it take for your disputes to actually come back with a real answer?
