My bank flagged my own debit card at a gas station in Fresno and I stood there like a fool
So last Tuesday I'm filling up at a Chevron off Blackstone in Fresno, and my card gets declined. Twice. I had $600 sitting right there in checking, so I call the number on the back and the guy tells me the fraud system locked it because I bought gas in Fresno and then a sandwich 20 minutes later across town. Apparently that's suspicious behavior now (sorry for eating lunch, I guess). He unlocked it in about 4 minutes, but the weird part is he said this kind of lock hits people with newer credit files way more often. I've had my card for 9 years and never got hit before, so now I'm wondering if the bank changed something on their end. Did anyone else get a random freeze on their card this month, and did calling actually fix it or did you have to go into a branch?
