Found out 68% of freelance jobs get their timeline changed at least once, and it made me feel less cursed
I was reading a survey from a freelance group last Tuesday night while waiting on a reply from a guy who moved my due date from Friday to Wednesday. The survey said 68% of projects get at least one deadline change, and the average move is 4 days. I always figured I was just bad at picking people to work with. Turns out it happens to almost everybody who does this for a living. The part that got me was that most of those changes come from the person paying, not from the person doing the work. So the next time somebody moves my date up a week, I am going to remember it is not just me. How do you all handle the moment right after the email lands, do you reply fast or sit on it for an hour?
