PSA: I went with the $60 injector puller over the $400 kit and it cost me two days
Pulled the injectors on a 6.0 Powerstroke last week at my shop in El Paso and had to choose between the cheap slide hammer kit from the parts store and the full $400 deal the tool truck guy was pushing. I grabbed the cheap one to save money. The threads stripped on cylinder three and I spent two days fishing a broken tip out of the head with a magnet and a pick. Ended up buying the good kit anyway plus a new injector. What's your go-to cheap tool that turned out to be a waste of money?

You know how many guys I've watched buy that $400 kit and still break a tip off in the head? The tool isn't the problem, it's guys who don't soak the injectors for a day and yank on them like they're pulling a stump out of the ground. I've pulled dozens of 6.0 injectors with a harbor freight slide hammer and never lost a tip, because I spray them down with PB Blaster the night before and let the engine sit warm. You stripped the threads on cylinder three, that's not the tool's fault, that's rushing the job. Sometimes the cheap kit works fine and the guy holding it is what costs you two days.
