My back started hurting after weeks in hostel bunks, and I finally figured out why

I realized that my mattress topper was too thin for support. Now I always pack a portable one, and it's made all the difference!

Back pain from hostel beds is the worst, lol. When you say portable mattress topper, what exactly do you mean? Are we talking about a foam pad, an inflatable one, or something else? How do you decide which one gives enough support without being bulky to carry around?

Tried a few options and settled on a thin memory foam pad that rolls up tight. It's not as small as an inflatable one, but the support is way better for my back. I stuff it in the bottom of my pack and it's worth the space it takes up.

A mattress topper that's too thin is a killer, so I never travel without my own padding.

How do you pack it without taking up too much space?
