My SIM card saga in Lisbon ate 4 days before I could work
Honestly, I landed in Lisbon thinking I'd grab a local eSIM in 20 minutes, but every shop wanted a tax ID I didn't have. After 4 days of bouncing between Vodafone and NOS kiosks, I ended up buying a prepaid SIM from a tiny newsstand in Alfama that just needed my passport. Has anyone else hit this wall in Portugal, or did I just pick the worst route possible?
My record is 6 days in Rome, so you're basically a productivity LEGEND compared to me. The newsstand move is pure genius though, those little shops never ask the dumb questions. Now I just bring a photocopy of my passport everywhere and go straight for the guy selling cigarettes and lottery tickets.
