Stayed in a hostel in Medellin for 2 months instead of renting an apartment, and my Spanish got way better
I booked a private room at a hostel in El Poblado for 2 months at $420 a month instead of getting my own place. Sharing a kitchen and common space meant I talked to people every single day, and most of them only spoke Spanish. My speaking went from ordering food to actual conversations in about 6 weeks. Anyone else find that hostels beat apartments for learning the language?
