My brother in law called my floating shelf "a physics experiment" and honestly, he was right
I hung a 5 foot oak shelf in the hallway with two 3 inch screws into drywall anchors and acted real proud of it until he leaned on it at Thanksgiving and it gave a sad little sag. He said, "anchor into studs or don't bother," so now I find studs with a $12 magnetic finder and add a hidden bracket at each end. Anybody got a favorite bracket for a shelf that's gonna hold actual books and not just a plant?
