Shoutout to the guy at the Rockford ReStore who said my pallet wood shelf was a fire hazard
I was picking up a $15 box of screws at the Rockford ReStore last month when some older guy looked at my phone pic of the pallet shelf I'd just built and flat out said the boards were too thin for the load. I got defensive at first, but he pulled a scrap off the pile and showed me how the grain ran the wrong way on mine, and honestly he was right. I rebuilt it with a center support that weekend and it barely flexes now with 40 lbs of paint cans on it. Has anyone else had a stranger at a store give unsolicited advice that actually turned out solid?
