Lost my whole folder of CAD blocks on a Tuesday and found out my backup plan was a joke
Last Tuesday I was finishing a set of floor plans for a small office build in Akron and my laptop just froze up. When I got it running again, my entire folder of custom CAD blocks was gone. Three years of door schedules, window types, and title blocks down the drain because I thought saving to the desktop counted as a backup. I sat there for two hours trying to recover the files with some free tool I googled, but no luck. I ended up redrawing about 40 blocks from scratch over the next couple days, which put me two days behind on the deadline. What really burned me was my so called backup drive had been unplugged since winter because I needed the outlet for a space heater. Now I'm paranoid and want a real system. What do you guys use to keep your block libraries and templates safe?
