Bought a $140 auto taper for one job, biggest regret this month
I grabbed one of those self feed taper tools from a supply house in Tulsa thinking it would speed up a long hallway ceiling. Took me three hours just to get the clutch adjusted right and it kept jamming on the compound feed. Ended up hand taping the whole thing the way I always do and the auto taper is just sitting in my truck. Anyone else drop money on a gadget that sounded great but slowed you down worse?
Man I feel this in my soul. I bought one of those fancy auto tapers years back and spent more time fighting the thing than taping, my buddy still gives me grief about it every time he sees it collecting dust in my garage. Live and learn I guess, at least you got a good story out of it.
