Fixed a speaker at a campsite last weekend
We were camping and the portable speaker died right before a bonfire. I found a cold solder joint and reflowed it with a mini iron from my bag, music saved the night. What's the strangest place you've had to do a repair?

Actually had to fix a soldering iron in an airport bathroom once. Trip to a client site and my only iron literally started smoking. Took it apart on a paper towel by the sinks, found a loose wire. Used a tiny screwdriver from my keychain and some electrical tape from my bag. Got it working just enough to finish the job later, felt like a total hack but it worked.

Man, your airport fix reminds me of when my car radio died during a road trip storm! I pulled into a wet parking lot and used a paperclip from my glove box to short some fuse connections, then sealed it with tape from a first-aid kit. The whole thing was powered by a weird adapter plugged into the cigarette lighter. Got static-y music back just to finish the drive, felt like a crazy science experiment.

Had to splice cables under a restaurant table during a date.

Speaking of weird repair spots, I read about a network tech once who had to replace a firewall in a church confessional booth during a service! He was trying to be quiet with his tools while people were talking nearby. Another guy fixed a crucial server while hiding in a coat closet at a fancy party. These stories show how tech issues never care about timing or place. It's kinda funny what we end up doing to keep things running!
