My team argues about eco details in proposal templates

Updating our email templates for new client outreach. Half want to mention our recycling program, half think it's off topic. What's your move?

That line about the recycling program debate is too real. My last team argued for a week on whether to use "sustainable" or "green" in a footer. I was the worst, always switching sides based on who talked last. Honestly, if your clients care about that stuff, a quick mention might work. But if it feels forced, it could just waste space they want for your main offer.

Ugh, we once spent two whole days deciding if "recycled paper" should say "textured finish" or "natural feel" on the packaging. Felt so pointless, like we were saving the planet one word choice at a time. You're right though, if it's not a core thing for the client, it just eats up space better used for what actually sells. Ever notice how these debates get way more heated than the stuff that actually matters?

Read this article about how those tiny word choices can actually matter to a small group of people, but most folks just skim right past them. Like, they tested "eco-friendly" against "planet-safe" on a label and the sales difference was basically zero. All that meeting time for a phrase that just blends into the background noise of a package anyway. Makes you wonder if the real goal is just to make the team feel like they're doing something important, not actually reaching the customer.

Oh man, that's classic. I can just see the whole team in a meeting room, whiteboard covered in "sustainable vs. green" pros and cons, while actual work burns down outside. Next they'll debate the shade of beige for the recycled paper stock. Those meetings always end with everyone picking a side like it's life or death, then forgetting why it mattered by lunch.
