That random bus stop comment about my jacket still sticks with me

Last month I was waiting for the 47 bus on Market Street in Philly and this older lady, Maria, tapped my shoulder. She said my thrifted denim jacket was cool but the boxy fit made me look like a refrigerator, she told me to taper the sides by two inches. I actually tried it on a practice piece that weekend and she was totally right, it changed the whole silhouette. Has anyone else gotten unsolicited design advice from a stranger that turned out to be spot on?
