Why do people keep adding pockets to formal gowns and ruining the whole line?
I was sketching a floor length gown last week and my classmate in Savannah kept pushing me to add big patch pockets because theyre trendy right now. The thing is, pockets on a fitted silk crepe gown pull the fabric and make the hip look wider than it is, and Ive seen 3 of her pieces do exactly that on the dress form. Am I wrong for thinking pockets only work on structured or A line shapes?
