My 6 foot level lied to me on a Bellvue job, so now I check it every Monday
I was setting 14 posts for a 160 foot chain link run in Bellvue last week and noticed my gates were dragging by about half an inch on the strike side. Turned out my 6 foot level was out of whack by a quarter bubble and had been that way for who knows how long. I pulled a plumb bob out of the truck, checked the level against it, and sure enough the bubble was off. I got the level swapped out that afternoon and re-set the two worst posts before the concrete got too hard. Now I test every level against a bob at the start of the week, takes 30 seconds. Anyone else had a bubble go bad on them without dropping the tool?
