TIL that home inspection report scared me off a house, and the seller wouldn't budge on a single thing
The inspector found a cracked heat exchanger in the furnace and said it was a $4,000 fix, so I asked the seller to cover it and they flat out refused. I walked away, but now I'm second guessing if I was too picky over one thing. Has anyone else bailed on a house over a repair the seller wouldn't touch?

My buddy went through the same thing last spring with a bad roof. Seller said it had 5 good years left and wouldn't knock a dime off, so he walked. Two months later that house sold to someone else for the same price, and he's still kicking himself. Turns out the guy just wanted the sale done and might have folded if my friend had pushed a bit harder or asked for half. Did you try asking them to split it or was it a total no from the start?
