A guy on YouTube said to lowball my Fiverr gigs to get reviews, and it backfired hard
I watched some freelancer with 200k subs say to price your first 10 Fiverr gigs at $5 to farm reviews fast. So I did that for my voiceover stuff, and after 14 orders I was stuck at $5 because every new buyer saw the old price and expected it. When I finally raised my rate to $40, my response rate dropped off a cliff and it took almost 3 months to get back to steady orders. Now I'm on Upwork trying to start fresh at a real rate, and honestly the $5 reviews don't even carry weight there. Has anyone else dug themselves out of a pricing hole like this, or did you just make a whole new account?

Man, that YouTube advice sounds like the same genius who told me to undercut everyone on a lawn care quote years back, and I spent a whole summer mowing a half acre for beer money. Funny how the folks handing out that advice never seem to be the ones eating the $5 gigs.
