Dropped $340 on a flower cooler humidifier that did nothing but rust my shelves
I run a small shop in Fort Worth and my roses kept crisping up overnight, so I bought one of those fancy misting humidifiers for the cooler. Big mistake. It pumped out way too much water, everything got damp, and after about 6 weeks I found rust creeping along the bottom shelf brackets. Total loss came to $340 for the unit plus around $200 in flowers that molded instead of perking up. What actually fixed it was a cheap thermometer and keeping the cooler at 34 degrees with the door shut. So now I want to ask you all, what do you use to keep humidity steady without soaking everything in there?
Ugh, that stings, rust and mold on top of losing the flowers is a rough combo. Did you ever try the passive route, like a damp towel or a tray of water, instead of a machine that mists?
