What I eat now to stay alert during pours
I used to dig into a big burger and fries for lunch every shift. By the afternoon pour, I was fighting to keep my eyes open and my hands steady. One close call with a mis-poured mold made me think about my habits. I started packing lighter stuff like fruit, nuts, and sandwiches with lots of veggies. Drinking more water too, not just coffee. Now I feel way more awake and can handle the heat better. Anyone have other food tips for long days near the furnace? I'm curious if small snacks throughout the day help others.

That shift to lighter meals makes total sense. I remember a summer doing warehouse work where a big lunch meant fighting sleep by mid-afternoon. Packing apples and peanut butter crackers instead kept my head clear in the stuffy heat. It's wild how a simple food change can turn a long day around.

Oh man, troy_king72, you're totally right about that. I started chugging way more water too, which helps just as much as the light lunch in that heat. What do you usually drink to stay sharp?

Chugging water in that heat, @tara_stone42? No way!

Light lunches and hydration, like @hannah_craig notes, are game changers.
