My entire keyword tracking sheet got wiped yesterday afternoon

I was updating a client's monthly report, and my Google Sheet with 6 months of rank data just went blank. I think I hit a weird filter or something. I spent two hours trying to restore a version from last week, but it only had half the info. Has anyone else had a spreadsheet just eat their data, and what's your backup plan now?

Actually Google Sheets version history shows every single change, not just weekly saves. You can scroll back minute by minute to find exactly when the data vanished. I restore cells all the time by clicking "Version history" and loading the sheet from right before my mistake.

Yeah the version history is your best bet, just go back to right before you updated. I've had to do that a few times when my filters went nuts and hid everything, it's a lifesaver.

Did you check the trash in Google Drive?

Oh man, that's a solid point. People forget the Drive trash holds stuff for 30 days. I once lost a whole folder of client photos and found it rotting in there. You gotta go to drive.google.com, click "Trash" on the left, and you can restore whole files or sheets from there. It's saved me way more times than version history honestly.
