A client in Chicago said my video calls looked like a dark cave
They told me my lighting was so bad they could barely see my face, which was a real wake-up call. I spent $80 on a simple ring light and moved my desk right next to the window in my home office. The difference is huge, and I feel way more professional now. Has anyone else had a client point out a simple fix you totally missed?

That "dark cave" line would've gotten my attention too. I always thought good lighting was just for fancy photoshoots, not video calls.

Oh man, @shane_carter, I learned this the hard way. I used to take calls in my dim living room and looked half asleep. A cheap ring light or even just sitting facing a window makes a huge difference. It's not about being fancy, you just look more awake and professional. People actually pay better attention when they can see your face clearly.
