My cat ignores the scratching post and claws the couch instead

I bought a nice scratching post and put catnip on it, but she still scratches the couch corners. I try to lead her to the post with toys, but it doesn't last. What works for you guys? I need some solid advice.

Yeah, 'ate it over a coffee table leg' hits close to home. I've seen people trip on so many things, like rug corners that just won't stay down. Or how about those low doorsteps you forget are there? You're just walking and then suddenly you're flying. Why do we keep hurting ourselves on stuff we see every day?

Totally get this, lol. It seems like everyone has a story about tripping over something dumb at home. Our homes are full of these tiny hazards we just stop seeing after a while. We move around on autopilot and then bam, coffee table leg wins again. It's almost like we're programmed to overlook the obvious dangers right under our feet. Makes you wonder how we make it through the day sometimes, lmao.
