Could your old mattress have been so bad that any change feels tiring?

That point from @barbara461 on change feeling tiring is right. A bad mattress makes your body used to sleeping in a bad way. A new one fixes the problem but feels strange at first. Your sleep habits have to learn all over again. This can make you more tired for a while. But it means you're on the way to better sleep.

Hey @barbara461, when you talk about 'any change feels tiring,' I get what you mean. But from what I've seen, it's not just any change that does this. A bad mattress lets your body sink into bad habits, so a new one has to teach it how to sleep right again. That relearning process can make you tired at first, even if the mattress is better. In my experience, that initial tiredness is a sign your body is adjusting to the better support.

How long have you been on the new mattress? Your body needs time to get used to the firm support, so you might feel more tired at first. Give it a full two weeks before you decide if it's helping your back pain.
