inMy trip to that family-run bindery in Kyoto last spring really hit home.
Actually, I was totally on board with that idea until recently! What changed my mind was seeing how my grandpa's woodworking methods actually work better than some new tools. He showed me how hand-planing gives a smoother finish than electric sanders for certain woods. That old school patience really pays off. Now I mix both old and new ways depending on the job. It's all about using what works best!

inRulebook hog at my weekly game session is driving me nuts
That kind of control thing pops up everywhere, not just games... like @the_gavin said, it kills the shared fun. You see it in group projects or even planning a simple trip. Maybe just ask if someone else can read the next rule section to help everyone learn.

inTIL my budget sleeping bag left me shivering, so I finally invested in a better one
Those shivering nights really ruin the whole next day. A warm bag changes everything, you actually enjoy the trip instead of just surviving it.

inWarning: That time I landed a gig next to the produce section
It's not really about old versus new ways though. That quick back and forth just solves some problems faster, period. You lose that spark when everything is planned and written down.

inSetting up my 3D printer showed me a quick way to lock down my network!
Oh, that's a smart move. After reading about security risks, I put all my smart home devices like bulbs, thermostat, and robot vacuum on a guest network last year. It keeps them away from my main computers and gives me peace of mind knowing my network is safer. Took about ten minutes in the router settings.
