Curious about a shake when the elevator goes down

That shake in a traction elevator going down often means the guide shoes are worn or rails are loose. Check the car sling bolts for tightness, since vibration loosens them over time. Also, the motor brake might catch unevenly during descent, causing a jerk. Have a technician look at the sheave and rope tensions to rule out imbalance.

Stop blaming the oven for soggy pie crusts, it's your technique

omg yes, that's the real fix right there. I went through the same thing for so long, blaming my oven and everything lol. I started doing exactly what you said, letting the fruit and sugar sit in a colander over a bowl for like an hour. You wouldn't believe how much liquid comes out, it's crazy. My last apple pie finally had a bottom crust you could actually hear a crunch when you cut it. Never going back to just hoping for the best.

Aligning those tiny parts for a run takes more time than the cut itself.

That line about setup wait really hits home for me. Last week I was trying to thread a needle to fix a button, and it took forever just to get the thread through. My hands were shaking, and I had to hold my breath to keep steady. The actual sewing took seconds, but that setup felt like an hour. It made me realize how much mental energy goes into prep work for tiny jobs. Now I always set aside extra time for that kind of thing, just for my own sanity.

PSA: A layover in Denver convinced me to leave my field service job

Getting stuck anywhere changes your view fast. Denver layovers are the worst with all the delays and overpriced airport food. @faith_lopez has the right idea looking at jobs that keep you in one place. I had a friend who switched to being a local network tech and says not living out of a suitcase fixed his whole mood. Constant travel just burns you out with weird hours and the same boring hotel rooms. Finding something stable close to home is a solid move.
