inTook a detour to avoid a washed-out bridge and ended up in thick brush
Trust those old trail maps! I used one on Pine Ridge last year and it led me to a safe way around a washed-out creek. Yes, paths get overgrown, but that's why we hike, right? GPS can fail when signals drop or routes change. Old maps show things that don't change much, like ridges and streams. For your next trip, compare the old map with a new one and talk to local hikers. You'll find a good route with some extra care.

inRant: Good luck finding a decent anvil that doesn't cost a month's rent.
It's like everything is made cheaper now, not just anvils. I mean, my mom's old kitchen mixer from the 70s still works perfectly, but the new one I bought broke in a year. @sam912 is right about old tools being built different, they just have that solid feel and last. Maybe it's just me but it feels like companies don't care about how long things last anymore.

Film the red tape while you're at it.

inSerious question, my portfolio feedback delay cost me a contract.
Remember my friend who loved that movie despite the giant plot hole @johnson.leo mentioned.

inVent: That cheap storage cube set I bought totally backfired
Ugh, that's the perfect trap. My question is, what were you even hoping to put in them when you bought the cubes? Like, did you have specific stuff that needed a home, or was it just the idea of having neat, hidden boxes that got you? I feel like that's the real moment where it goes wrong, when you're buying a solution for clutter that doesn't exist yet. It just creates a vacuum that demands to be filled with junk.
