Update: I quit driving to Rio Rancho for every little freelance gig
Back in 2021 I was putting 300 miles a week on my truck meeting folks face to face for 15 minute talks, and now I just send a Loom link and call it done. Anybody else in ABQ notice their gas bill dropped once they stopped chasing every in person meetup?

How many of those 15 minute meetings actually needed to be in person though? I started doing the same thing for my design clients, half of them are in Santa Fe or Los Lunas, and I realized most of it was just me sitting in a parking lot waiting for someone to finish their coffee. Now I do a quick video call or send a walkthrough and honestly the clients seem happier because they can rewatch it instead of trying to remember what I said. The one thing I still drive for is anything where I gotta see the actual space or meet a crew, that part you can't fake over a link. My gas bill went from like $180 a month down to maybe $90, and my truck isn't getting beat to hell on 528 every week either.
