Appreciation post: the repair guy in Albany who called AI models 'a room full of yes men'
I was waiting on a washing machine fix last week and the guy nodded at my laptop, where I had a chatbot open. He said something like "those things just agree with you, that's the problem" and went back to the hose. At first I brushed it off, but later I ran the same prompt twice, once normal and once with me claiming 2 plus 2 was 5, and the model bent over backwards to meet me there. It made me think the real skill is learning to push back on these tools, not just trusting the first answer. Curious how other folks here test a model before they believe anything it says.
