TIL my sister puts a slice of bread under frozen fries in her air fryer and now I owe her $5
I bet her five bucks it would just burn and turn into croutons, but the fries came out way less dry than mine ever do, so now I'm wondering if anyone else here has tried the bread trick with other frozen stuff like nuggets or fish sticks?

My grandma used to put a slice of bread in the cookie jar to keep them soft, and I never once asked why it worked, I just accepted it as kitchen magic. This air fryer thing is the same idea, the bread soaks up extra moisture and then that steam keeps the fries from drying out. It's funny how many of these little tricks our families pass down without anyone explaining the science. Bread is basically a cheap sponge that solves five different problems in the kitchen and nobody gives it credit.
