A lead guy in Tucson told me my safety wire twists were too loose, cut 200 ties to prove his point
I was doing safety wire on a nose gear last month and my lead said the twists needed 6 to 8 per inch, not the 4 to 5 I had been doing since A&P school. He made me cut every single tie I did that shift, 200 of them, and redo it while he watched, which stung but he was right, the loose ones can rub and fail. How do you all check your twist count without stopping to count every one?

Yeah 6 to 8 is the norm, we just eyeball it by feel now. Count a few inches every so often to keep yourself honest.
