Always thought those ultrasonic cleaners were a gimmick for small parts

We had a stubborn grease buildup on some actuator gears from a Cessna 172, and the shop lead told me to run them through the Crest unit for 15 minutes. They came out spotless, saving me an hour of scrubbing with solvent. Anyone have a good homemade cleaning solution recipe for these machines?

Man, my buddy had the same doubt until his carburetor jets were totally clogged. He threw them in his cheap ultrasonic bath with some simple green and warm water as a last resort. Twenty minutes later they looked brand new, all the tiny passages were clear. He said it felt like actual magic after fighting with wires and spray cans for hours. Totally changed his mind on those things.

Yeah and it's not just for carbs either. I started using mine on old fuel injectors and it's the same deal, they come out looking like they just left the factory. The real game changer was when I tried it on some gummed up small engine parts, the kind of stuff you'd normally just replace because cleaning seems impossible. That little tank paid for itself in one afternoon.

Totally agree with @skyler_johnson32, mine saved a vintage lighter I thought was junk.
