Customer demanded a keypad by the toilet, I argued, now I think he was onto something
Tbh I did a system in a house in Austin last month where the guy insisted on a keypad inside the bathroom near the throne and I pushed back saying it was weird, but he told me 'if someone breaks in at 2am I'm not running to the hallway naked,' so now I'm wondering if we should all offer that as a standard option or if that's just overkill?

That "not running to the hallway naked" line is actually the whole pitch right there. If you're doing a security system for someone who cares enough to have keypads by the main doors, they probably care about the full panic scenario too. I'd say offer it as a checkbox on the quote, not something you push, but definitely not something you hide either. Worst case they say no and you move on, best case you just made their 2am nightmare a little less awkward.
