I finally saw what happens when you skip putting a backup battery in the panel
Went back to a house I installed 2 years ago in Fresno. The owner said the alarm was dead after a power outage. Opened the panel and there was no backup battery inside. The original installer left it out to save maybe $30. The whole system was useless the second the lights went out. Anyone else run into installers cutting corners like this?

You ever notice how the people who skip the backup battery are the same ones who never set up push alerts? They just assume the system will work forever. Then one storm comes through, the power flickers, and suddenly their "security" is just a fancy brick on the wall. But really, who tests their system more than once a year anyway? That's the real gamble.
