That ladder stabilizer I bought last fall sits in my van collecting dust
Picked one up at a supply house in Boise back in October, thought it was the answer to every gable end install I do. Used it twice, then realized it takes longer to set up than just leaning the ladder and working carefully. I see these things in other guys' trucks all the time and nobody seems to actually use them. For the $180 I spent, I could have bought three good fiberglass standoffs instead. The real issue is most of us never practice on uneven ground before we need it on a live job. Has anyone here actually found a stabilizer that works well on siding without scratching it up, or is it all just marketing?
