Vent: a 30 year installer in Flint gave me one tip about keypad placement and 2 service calls this month proved him wrong | Alarm System Installers - Freelance Forum - The Community for Independent Professionals
Old timer tips are hit or miss like that. The real issue is that keypad height rules came from a time when every panel was the same and every house had the same layout. Now you've got panels in garages, laundry rooms, closets, wherever the builder felt like it. A height that works on an interior wall next to a door is useless when the thing is mounted behind a fridge or in a dark hallway. Two service calls means the guy's rule cost you real time, and that's the part that bugs me, not the tip itself.
