A shop owner told me to stop testing caps with my old analog meter
Five months back I was doing a fridge call in Mesa and testing run caps with a cheap analog meter like I had done for 15 years. The shop owner watched me for a minute and told me he had replaced three compressors that season because techs trusted those needle swings instead of a real capacitance tester. I bought a $60 digital cap tester that week compared to a $300 compressor, so which side do you all land on, is the old needle trick still good enough or is it time to toss it?
