Picked a refurbished control board over a new one for a customer's fridge last month, saved them $180
Had a call in Sacramento for a Whirlpool fridge that wouldn't cool and the control board was toast. New OEM board was $260, but I found a refurb for $80 from a supplier I've used a few times. I went with the refurb and told the homeowner straight up it might not last as long. That was 5 weeks ago and it's still running fine, she even left a review. But now I'm second guessing whether I should keep offering refurbs or just stick with new parts. Any of you run refurbs on boards regularly, or is it too risky?
