Shoutout to the coins that turned a repair into a treasure hunt

I had a service call for a washer making awful noises... customer said it sounded like rocks. I figured it might be something stuck in the drum. After pulling it apart, I found about two dollars in coins rattling around. Their son admitted he'd been dropping his change in for months. I cleared it all out and the machine worked perfectly. We all had a good chuckle about it. It was a simple fix, but the story made my day.

A pal of mine who fixes appliances found a handful of coins in a garbage disposal once. The family's kid had been testing if money would disappear down there.
