Dropped $400 on a Silky pole saw and it saved my shoulder, not my wallet
I do a lot of trail clearing work up near Flagstaff and was still climbing everything to reach dead limbs, which was wrecking my shoulder. My climbing buddy kept telling me to get the long reach saw and I finally dropped $400 on it, which felt insane for a hand tool. Two days later I cleared a full mile of trail in about four hours instead of the usual two day grind. The shoulder pain I had been dealing with for three seasons just went away, and I actually started sleeping through the night again. The part that burns me is thinking about how much ibuprofen and how many chiropractor visits I paid for while that saw sat in my cart for eight months. My groundie still says I should have rented one first, but I think he just wants a turn with it. Has anyone else found a tool that made them feel dumb for waiting so long?
