My first solo removal went clean on a 60 foot maple in Lexington
Three years ago I would not climb past 20 feet without my old boss watching from the ground. Last Wednesday I dropped a 60 foot silver maple between a shed and a chain link fence in Lexington, and the whole thing hit the grass without a scratch on either one. I set my rope at 40 feet, made the face cut, and watched the hinge hold just like my old foreman drilled into me back in 2019. His voice was in my head the whole time saying check your escape route twice. Anyone else still hear their first trainer on every big cut?
