Seeing more homeowners choose tree checks over quick removal
People in my area now call for health checks before cutting trees down. This shift means better care for urban trees. Are you seeing similar changes in your work?

Wait, people are actually paying for tree health checks now? In my experience, most folks just see a dead branch and instantly call for a full removal quote. The fact that checks are becoming the first call is wild to me, that's honestly a big shift. It has to be way cheaper than just cutting a healthy tree down for no reason, right? Glad to hear it's catching on where you are.

My old neighbor cut down three mature maples because he thought they looked sick. Cost him over four grand and the yard looks terrible now. I used to think checks were a waste of time, but seeing that changed my mind. It's like what @thea425 said, fines make people stop and think before they just start cutting. A simple check costs a fraction of removal and can save a tree that's actually fine. More people need to get that through their heads.

My buddy in another state watched his neighbor cut down a perfectly healthy oak last week.

My city just passed a law with a $500 fine for removing a healthy tree without a check. That neighbor @stella927 mentioned would've been hit hard. It's not just about care now, it's about avoiding real financial pain for being reckless.
