Switched from a pole saw to a Silky handsaw on 3 inch limbs and my shoulders thank me
Climbed a red oak in Chattanooga yesterday and the handsaw cut through the same branches in half the time with way less vibration, so now I'm wondering if anyone else ditched the gas polesaw for smaller stuff once they learned how to use a proper handsaw.
Its the same thing that happens with kitchen knives honestly. People buy the fancy electric slicer and then realize a sharp hand knife does the job faster once they actually learn how to use it. Same deal with a handsaw, its all about technique and keeping it sharp. Gas tools have their place on big jobs but for the small stuff you just end up fighting the weight and the noise for no reason.
