I finally tried that "ask a stranger" advice and got a free month of rent out of it
I always thought asking random people for help was just something people say online to sound wise, so when my landlord in Cleveland hiked my rent by $150 I did nothing for two weeks. Then a neighbor at the laundry room suggested I just ask him for a break, and he said yes and knocked it back down for 3 months. Has asking for something out loud ever actually worked for you, or does it usually just make things weird?
