The timer on my coffee maker has been lying for months, and I just figured it out
I set mine for 6:15 AM but the coffee was always cold and weak by 7. Turns out the clock drifts about 4 minutes every week, so by month three it was brewing at 5:47. Has anyone else caught their appliance clocks being this far off, or is mine just a dud?
The math works out to the clock being about 16 minutes slow after a month, not 28. Four minutes a week times four weeks is sixteen, so your brewer was probably hitting around 5:59, not 5:47. Still annoying, but the coffee being weak is more about the grounds sitting in hot water too long than the brewing time. A clock drift that big usually points to a cheap crystal inside, so it's not a total dud, just a budget part doing budget things. Might be worth resetting it every couple weeks or just switching to a manual pour-over for a while.
