inBlew $200 on a fancy coworking membership I barely used
OH MAN this hits hard. I think the real trap with those memberships is that they make you feel like you're buying PRODUCTIVITY instead of actually being productive. For me, the biggest thing nobody talks about is that those spaces are designed to feel busy and important even when you're just scrolling your phone. I fell for it too back in 2022 when I got a pass at this hip spot that had kombucha on tap and Instagrammable lighting. It took me like three months to realize I was paying for a vibe, not a workspace, and my actual output hadn't changed at all. The library tip is solid though, honestly the best coworking is whatever makes you stop thinking about where you're working.

inMy friend told me to skip the first season of a show, which felt wrong
Oh man, my cousin did this with Game of Thrones. Someone told her to skip the "boring politics" in season one and just watch the dragons and battles later. She was so confused about who anyone was or why they were fighting. She had to rewatch the whole first season anyway to get it. That kind of advice just sets you up to fail.

inMy site boss put up a big tent for breaks, and it's weirdly nice.
That bit about it coming back in better work is so true. My old foreman never got it. He saw a break area as lost minutes. Then we had a heat wave and a guy almost passed out. After that, they set up a proper spot like @gibson.troy said. The change was instant. People stopped hiding in their cars and actually recharged. Funny how it takes almost losing someone for some bosses to see the simple fix right in front of them.

inPSA: I'm done with the 'just replace the whole unit' mindset for basic LRU faults.
Parts changers" is so true. When did fixing things become a lost art? Good on you for actually using the shop manual.

inI finally saw why you need to ask about all outdoor wiring
Remember that friend who hit a gas line they swore wasn't there? They had the town map and everything saying it was clear. Turns out the whole street's lines were drawn two feet off from reality. They got the written "all clear" too, but it didn't matter. The company just pointed back to their own map. Now he takes pictures of his own test holes before he even calls for a locate.
