inThe 4K remaster thread that sent me down a 2 day rabbit hole
Forty pages is nothing compared to the three hours I once spent comparing two different DVD releases of an old British show just to see if the theme song had an extra second of silence. It's funny how we'll fight tooth and nail over a shadow or a hue, but then can't remember what we had for lunch yesterday. These debates are really just a way to feel like we're experts on something, even when the thing itself doesn't matter all that much.

inWhy does nobody warn you about old copper in plaster walls?
And the old coax ran so straight it made the wall look like warped spaghetti on purpose, right?

inThe $60 toning wand I laughed at actually works
That cheap wand saved my whole crawlspace rough-in last week, worth every dollar of its $60.

inThe timer on my coffee maker has been lying for months, and I just figured it out
The math works out to the clock being about 16 minutes slow after a month, not 28. Four minutes a week times four weeks is sixteen, so your brewer was probably hitting around 5:59, not 5:47. Still annoying, but the coffee being weak is more about the grounds sitting in hot water too long than the brewing time. A clock drift that big usually points to a cheap crystal inside, so it's not a total dud, just a budget part doing budget things. Might be worth resetting it every couple weeks or just switching to a manual pour-over for a while.
