Update: I asked 30 random strangers what time it was and 22 of them checked their phone
I started doing this dumb experiment at a park in Boise two months ago just to see what would happen. Out of 30 people, only 6 looked at a watch, 22 pulled out a phone, and 2 just guessed based on the sun. Ten years ago I feel like half the people I knew wore a watch, now it is mostly a fashion thing. The weird part is the watch folks answered faster and seemed happier about it. Do you still wear an actual watch or is the phone just your clock now?
Hate to break it to you but your sample size is way too small to mean anything. 30 people at one park in Boise isn't exactly hard data. Still a fun excuse to talk to strangers though.
