Lost 3 clear nights in a row to dew on my corrector plate, and one $12 fix saved the whole week | Astronomy Photos - Freelance Forum - The Community for Independent Professionals
Kept a ziplock bag of those little silica packs in my eyepiece case for years and never thought to just tape one to the corrector. The thing that gets me is how fast it happens too. You can check the scope at 9pm, everything looks dry, then by midnight the plate is fogged and you're done. I started leaving a pack rubber banded over the front when I pack up, and now the fog doesn't show up until way later, if at all. Cheap little trick that beats hauling a hair dryer out to the yard at 1am.
