Why does nobody talk about the free coffee at the Atlanta Tech Village meetups turning into a nightmare

Last Wednesday I had to wait 15 minutes for them to brew a new pot while some guy in a hoodie kept talking about blockchain at me and the creamer was empty again... has anyone else had to deal with this mess?

...and then when you finally get that fresh pot, it's like they used yesterday's grounds or something, because it's watery and bitter at the same time. I had almost the same thing happen last month, stood there while some finance bro explained his whole crypto portfolio while the pot was brewing, and by the time it was done there was no creamer left again. It's like they buy the cheapest creamer in bulk and just let it sit out until it clumps up... I've started bringing my own little container of half-and-half in my lunch bag just to avoid the hassle. The free coffee is supposed to be a perk but honestly it just stresses me out more than if I had to pay for it somewhere else.
